Cape Cod 2012Once again I find myself Jet lagged, tired and my desk buried in mail. I think there are a few bills in the pile so perhaps I will deal with those later in the week. I feel the same withdraw symptoms each time I return but I would say that every year is quite different. There are always new challenges to face as the Stripers Migration Northwards unfolds. I liken the migration to a swarm of Locusts, ever hungry and...

The first time I went to Cape Cod to fish for Stripers or sailed out to the Amarantes Islands in the Seychelles I came away inspired and knew that I had to return . I feel something similar having just visited salon european des peches en mer , in Nantes France. This is a fishing and boating show attended by around 25, 000 people. You will find all the big names in lure fishing displaying all the latest gizmo’s from Jig...

Things have been somewhat crazy recently I don’t have a clue where the summer has gone. I had so many plans. Once again I seem to have missed out on fishing for Gilthead Bream , only taken Oliver surfing a handfull of times .  Spreading myself between UK Bass  Guiding, mail order and fishing abroad leaves me forever in catch up mode. I visited Cape Cod at the beginning of September . It felt very strange to out there again so...

Im just back after 21 days on Cape Cod.Its a joy to be home !   Sping decided to arrive late , water temperatures were down by 10 degrees . The wind direction shfted from one day to another . The weather was generally stunning . I spent 3 weeks in shorts and T shirts with the exeption of one or two days . Bright sunshine may provide great sight fishing but those overcast days with South Westerly winds tend to provide the best sport...

Weight loss for travelling Anglers

This is nerdy blog but who cares.  If you travel and fish then THIS STUFF MATTERS!!  These days not only have the cost of flights gone up but the airlines now take great pleasure in screwing you on luggage allowances.  If you want to sit by the pool and read a book that’s fine but if you are a traveling fly angler it can a nightmare. I spend hours weighing my luggage prior to a trip, fine tuning and jettisoning gear to hit the...

Its 4.30 AM and I have just made my way down stairs and made a cup of tea. A few minites ago I  found myself standing upon the bow of a skiff with a Cuban Guide. Two Permit slid their way through the a weed bed swimming from left to right. My guide pointed the fish out to me , although this time these fish were quite easy to spot. My new hunting partner whispered . CAST CAST CAST. I make my cast and my heavy crab fly is...

In 2008 & 2009 I accompanied groups to Los Roques. The bonefishing was excellent the Permit are huge , if rather to clever for my liking. The tarpon fishing is OK but don’t go to Los Roques expecting to be playing Tarpon all day. Evenings can be spent on the beach on bean bags listening to hip music watching gorgeous Italian girls hanging out being ‘Italian’. View photos at SmugMug floxin prostatitis for sale...
